Welcome! We have a small hobby farm where our family raises dairy goats, pedigree cats, and purebred dogs in Columbus, Minnesota. We have four children who are very much involved in our animal care, so you can expect your new family member to come well-loved and socialized. At our farm, we offer a little bit of everything, but all of our breeding has the same goal. We are breeding for health and temperament over all else. Our animals are all a part of our family, even after they come home to you. Adopting an animal from us means that you have access to a lifetime of mentoring and boarding if you’re local! About our family and our philosophy
ChucklePuff farms is run by the Beckmann family. We (Pauli and Dom Beckmann) have been living in Columbus, Minnesota since 2015 and have since been joined by four kiddos (Jeff, Vini, Izzy, and Rosie). We both have backgrounds in science, and we met working in the lab at the University of MN. Our love for science, genetics, animals, and learning new things made farming and breeding a natural transition for us. We have fostered our love of animals and our values of hard work and family in our children. We continue to learn every day about this life we are building together.
Our philosophy for all of our breeding is to breed to their breed standard, with particular focus on aspects that directly relate to function and health. In addition, we only breed animals with exceptional temperament who are truly ambassadors for their breed. We have learned first hand how much stress and anxiety can come from an aggressive or unfriendly animal. While each of our species has a specific focus be it milk production, structure, speed, biddability, at the end of the day we come back to our fundamentals of producing healthy, friendly, well-rounded animals who come well-loved from our family to yours. We truly are excited to welcome you into the ChucklePuff family.
What is the deal with our weird name? What is a ChucklePuff anyway?
Charlie, Chuckles, Charles, ChucklePuff is a mini aussie and was our first animal to have together. He was my (Pauli’s) first dog and it was his behavioral challenges that brought me initially into being a dog trainer while I was in my PhD program. He showed me the importance of being a strong packer leader, consistency, structure, and building a positive relationship with your dog. He has also shown me what it means to give yourself completely to something and how much responsibility it truly is to have a dog who is willing and ready to protect you with his life. Charlie is at the end of his life now, but he continues to inspire us every day to be better.

We adopted our kitten from Pauli earlier this year and he has been an absolute dream come true. We named him Charlie, and from the moment he stepped into our home he has been the friendliest, most confident, and sweetest boy imaginable. He’s incredibly social and loves every person he meets (even with strangers on day one!). He gets along beautifully with our 2 other cats we already had. He isn’t fazed by the vacuum, household noises, and is completely relaxed being picked up and handled. His coat is gorgeous, shiny, and he’s the picture of health and vitality. You can tell these kittens are raised with so much love and care. Pauli’s four wonderful kids clearly spend tons of time socializing them, because Charlie came to us perfectly prepared to be a loving family companion. He’s brought endless joy to our home every single day. If you’re looking for an exceptionally well-raised, healthy, and affectionate kitten, we couldn’t recommend Pauli enough.
